I asked you to show me your body, and you did
\nwith a crooked grin on your face, showing me your
\nteeth–cleaned every six months, and there, too, is
\nyour mother–giggling and pushing down on me,
\nspeaking to me:
\n“oh, when you do that”,
\npulling my hands to you to create callus.<\/p>\n
A leaking emptiness raising inside of the dust
\nand our eyes catch each other, briefly, and then
\ndisconnect, music or chaos or both.<\/p>\n
This is a memory, not reality–that
\nreality is nothing more then your bent body
\non my shoulder, your arm up below my neck
\nas if with my comfort you must choke me;
\nyour legs grab mine and hold them–
\nforceps in silence, a rough country of skin
\nand sheet and outside there is a meteor shower
\nechoing off of the window
\nplink plink plink<\/i>.
\nThe punctuation of your sleeping breath
\nbetween each falling star,
\na bent, dreamless spoon wrapped up in
\nsheets and unnamed fear.<\/p>\n
I close my eyes
\nI float down this moment
\nto keep this moment
\nto become this moment
\nto fill it with oxygen
\nand stand still on fire with nerves
\nyour breath hot on my neck
\nhearing the world outside of us
